The Seven Chakras (1)

The seven rays are directly connected to seven sacred centers in the body called chakras. Everybody has them. This is how the spiritual light-energy that is continuously flowing to you from Spirit and your God Self supplies your body, mind and soul. The energy flows in and out and is absorbed and assimilated through each chakra.

Seven major chakras are located along the spinal column in the etheric body. Although we cannot see them with the naked eye, we are always picking up the energy of these chakras and those with clairvoyant sight can actually see them. When we say someone has a good or a bad vibration, we are intuitively reading the aura that is always reflecting, moment by moment, the light-energy coming from the chakras.

Knowledge of these centers is very old. The word chakra is Sanskrit and means “wheel” or “disc”. These centers play a major role in the overall health and vitality of our body. If one or more are blocked and limiting or restricting the flow of light-energy we experience emotional and health problems, fatigue, and a general feeling of malaise.

Sealed within the base-of-the-spine chakra is a very powerful energy called the Kundalini. When this dormant spiritual energy is awakened it rises up along the spine and through each chakra activating it. There are many ways to unlock this powerful, transformative energy. The safest way is naturally through acts of kindness, nurturing and caring for others, healing our body, mind and soul, meditation, prayer and devotion.

When chakras awaken they start to spin and the light emanating from them resembles a lotus flower unfolding its petals. This is why they are symbolized by a lotus. The base-of-the-spine chakra has four petals and the crown chakra is known as the thousand-petaled lotus. The more petals a chakra has the higher the frequency or vibration. Each chakra has a unique color. If you were to look at the spiritual body of someone aligned to their Higher Self the light emanating from each chakra would correlate with one of the seven rays. These are the colors of the chakras you would see starting at the top and working your way down:

crown (yellow ray); third-eye (green ray); throat (blue ray); heart (pink ray); solar plexus (purple and gold ray); seat-of-the-soul (violet ray); base-of-the-spine (white ray).

All of the chakras have a specific function. They are centers of transformation and play a vital role in our spiritual development. The seven chakras along the spine correspond not only to the seven rays but also to seven planes of consciousness. Following the path of the masters we develop self-mastery and learn how to internalize and assimilate the God qualities of each ray and embody more of the Christ consciousness.

The study of the chakra system is fascinating and highly recommended. We will look at the following three, the heart, throat, and crown chakras, to give you a basic idea of how they operate and how the masters work with us.
