Centering in the Heart

The spiritual path can be overwhelming when you first begin. There are plenty of places to go and an abundance of things to learn and do. Many people find prayer and meditation helpful. Prayer connects you to the spiritual world and meditation teaches you to enter the silence and to focus on the inner light. You will find this path is as much an inner journey as it is an outer one. It requires faith and the ability to go within and align and make attunement with your Higher Self. This is your inner teacher.

One very practical meditation that many find helpful is called centering in the heart. This teaches you to sit in sacred space. It also helps you to stay grounded as you navigate the spiritual path. The more you practice this meditation the easier it becomes. Plus, you will find you can stay in sacred space for longer periods of time. A simple and quick centering technique you can use with any prayer or decree is the following.

  1. Put your thumb, index, and middle fingers of your left hand together and place them in the middle of your chest next to your heart.
  2. Close your eyes and focus on this area.
  3. Take several deep calming breaths.
  4. Visualize the inner light.

This is how you would braid the violet and green rays. Centering in your heart visualize the violet flame alternating with the emerald green flame saturating and surrounding your heart. If painful memories surface release them into the violet flame. Repeat the following prayers:

Kuan Yin Mantra

OM MANI PADME HUM (3-11x)
(Phonetic pronunciation: OM MAH-NEE PUD-MAY HOOM
Translation: OM! Hail to the jewel in the heart of the lotus!)

Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us, sons and daughters of God,
Now and at the hour of our victory
Over sin, disease and death. (3x)

We have mentioned the violet flame several times so now let’s find out more about it.
